Local integrity test and maintenance of the extinguishant concentration

The NFPA 2001 standard and the UNI 15004 require the integrity test of the room (Door Fan Integrity Test).
Fire extinguishing in an environment protected by a total saturation system takes place when a specific concentration of extinguishing agent is reached in the air.
Therefore, as a precautionary measure, the following conditions must be verified:
– The tightness of the protected room guarantees a retention time of at least 10 minutes;
– The quantity of extinguishing agent expected is correctly sized for the volume of the protected room;
– Locate any openings for the elimination of leaks.

The Door Fan Integrity Test calculates the concentration and time that the gas concentration remains at a level sufficient to garantee extinguishing of the protected room.
