The periodic ordinary maintenance of the smoke extractors is a fundamental and mandatory aspect, which must necessarily be carried out by qualified personnel. Initially the documentation must be presented and verified, if it is not available or only partially, it must be provided by a fire prevention professional, by the system manager.
For correct maintenance, the following steps must be followed:
Functional check: Inspection of each individual smoke evacuator
Remove any external obstructions
Check that there are no signs of corrosion on the mechanisms
Checking the integrity of the parts making up the appliance
Control of the thermal trip unit of each individual smoke evacuator
Verification of the integrity of the thermosensitive bulb and its position
Checking the integrity of the CO2 cartridge to be tested every 10 years
Checking the weight of the CO2 cartridge (not less than 10%)
Checking the state of the thermal valve
Centralized control group control
Only in the presence of a pneumatic or electric system with actuators.
Check opening of smoke vents and replacement
Opening of each individual smoke evacuator, checking the correct functioning of all the parts that expand and rotate
Replacement of worn out or damaged spare parts
Smoke vent opening control
Integrity check of the parts that make up the barriers Random check of the seal and fastening systems
